The Osceola takes a look at Florida State as well as the other three teams in the pool at the College World Series.

Florida State (41-21)

Coach: Mike Martin (2,028-734-4 in 40 seasons as FSU’s head coach, 17 CWS appearances in 40 seasons).

Road to Omaha: def. Florida Atlantic and Georgia (twice) to win the Athens Regional, then def. LSU twice in the Baton Rouge Super Regional.

First CWS game: vs. Arkansas on Saturday at 7 p.m. (ESPN)

Top hitters: SS Mike Salvatore (.341, 55 runs, 22 doubles, 7 HR, 51 RBI), DH Robby Martin (.332, 17 doubles, 4 HR, 54 RBI), 3B Drew Mendoza (.319, 60 runs, 16 HR, 56 RBI), C Mathew Nelson (.277, 6 HR, 29 RBI), LF Tim Becker (.286, 17 runs, 3 HR, 13 RBI).

Top pitchers: LHP Drew Parrish (8-5, 5.11 ERA, 120 strikeouts and 39 walks in 94.2 innings) will likely start on Saturday, while RHP C.J. Van Eyk (10-3, 3.80 ERA, 120 strikeouts and 39 walks in 94.2 innings) will likely start on Monday. A potential Game 3 starter is RHP Conor Grady (9-5, 3.64 ERA). LHP Antonio Velez (5-2, 4.26 ERA), RHP J.C. Flowers (0-0, 1.40 ERA, 12 saves), and RHP Chase Haney (2-2, 2.73) are the top bullpen arms.

Arkansas (45-18)

Coach: Dave Van Horn (689, 382 in 17 seasons at Arkansas, five CWS appearances).

Road to Omaha: def. Central Connecticut and TCU twice to win the Arkansas Regional, then def. Ole Miss twice in the Fayetteville Super Regional.

First CWS game: vs. FSU on Saturday at 7 p.m. (ESPN)

Top hitters: Matt Goodheart (.356, 16 doubles, 5 HR, 46 RBI), 1B Trevor Ezell (.328, 71 runs, 25 doubles, 10 HR, 47 RBI), 2B Jack Kenley (.324, 54 runs, 13 HR, 53 RBI), RF Heston Kjerstad (.323, 15 HR, 46 RBI), CF Dominic Fletcher (.316, 23 doubles, 11 HR, 59 RBI).

Top pitchers: RHP Isaiah Campbell (12-1, 2.26 ERA, 115 strikeouts and 20 walks in 111.1 innings) is the likely starter against FSU. The Razorbacks also feature RHP Connor Noland (3-5, 4.00 ERA, 53 strikeouts and 13 walks in 74.1 innings). Some top bullpen arms are LHP Matt Cronin (1-0, 2.00 ERA, 12 saves, 40 strikeouts and 14 walks in 27 innings), RHP Jacob Kostyshock (1-3, 2.89 ERA, 29 strikeouts and 10 walks in 28 innings) and RHP Cody Scroggins (3-0, 3.80 ERA, 65 strikeouts and 25 walks in 47.1 innings).

Michigan (46-20)

Road to Omaha: def. Creighton, def. Cincinnati, lost to Creighton, def. Creightton to win Corvallis (Ore.) Regional, then def. UCLA in three games in the Los Angeles Super Regional.

First CWS game: vs. Texas Tech on Saturday at 2 p.m. (ESPN), which is the Wolverines’ first CWS appearances since 1984.

Top hitters: OF Jordan Brewer (.338, 55 runs, 12 HR, 19 doubles, 55 RBI), OF Jordan Nwogu (.327, 55 runs, 12 home runs, 13 doubles, 43 RBI), SS Jack Blomgren (.309, 3 HR, 47 RBI), 3B Blake Nelson (.299, 40 runs, 16 doubles, 1 HR, 35 RBI).

Top pitchers: RHP Karl Kauffmann (10-6, 2.59 ERA, 101 strikeouts and 30 walks in 114.2 innings) will start Game 1. RHP Jeff Criswell (7-1, 2.74 ERA, 99 strikeouts and 45 walks in 95.1 innings) or LHP Tommy Henry (4-3, 2.98 ERA, 46 strikeouts and 14 walks in 42.1 innings) will start Game 2. Bullpen names to know are RHP Willie Weiss (2-2, 3.08 ERA, nine saves, 50 strikeouts and 32 walks in 38 innings) and RHP Isaiah Paige (4-0, 2.98 ERA, 28 strikeouts and 16 walks in 48.1 innings).

Texas Tech (44-18)

Coach: Tim Tadlock (283-150 in seven seasons at Texas Tech).

Road to Omaha: def. Army and Dallas Baptist twice to win the Lubbock Regional, then def. Oklahoma State in three games to win the Lubbock Super Regional.

First CWS game: vs. Michigan on Saturday at 2 p.m. (ESPN).

Top hitters: 1B Cameron Warren (.354, 60 runs, 16 doubles, 2 HR, 76 RBI), SS Josh Jung (.342, 62 runs, 22 doubles, 14 HR, 56 RBI), 3B Dru Baker (.326, 3 HR, 23 RBI), OF Gabe Holt (.320, 53 runs, 3 HR, 35 RBI).

Top pitchers: RHP Micah Dallas (7-0, 3.38 ERA, 82 strikeouts and 26 walks in 72 innings) is the likely Game 1 starter. RHP Caleb Killian (8-3, 3.93 ERA, 80 strikeouts and 19 walks in 89.1 innings) is the likely Game 2 starter. Top bullpen arms include RHP Connor Queen (4-0, 1.20 ERA, 10 strikeouts and five walks in 15 innings) and LHP Dane Haveman (2-1, 2.57 ERA, 58 strikeouts and eight walks in 42 innings).
