Two Florida State players have found opportunities in the NBA’s summer league.
Guard Anthony Polite will play for the San Antonio Spurs’ summer league team, while forward Malik Osborne will play for the Cleveland Cavaliers’ summer league team.
Polite averaged 9.9 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists for FSU in 2021-22. He started in 24 games, missing a month due to wrist surgery but coming back to guide the Seminoles to a pair of wins to finish the regular season.
Osborne averaged 10 points and 6.9 rebounds in 17 games. He had ankle surgery that caused him to miss a significant portion of the ACC season.
The NBA’s summer games begin on July 7. Both players found chances following the completion of the two-round NBA Draft that wrapped up late Thursday night. There was no selection from Florida State for the first time since 2018.
John Butler Jr. has not yet reached a deal for the summer. Butler averaged 5.9 points, 3.2 rebounds and made a team-best 33 3-point shots in the 2021-22 season.
