Brown becomes FSU’s 16th commitment

Three-star linebacker Shyheim Brown of Lake City Columbia High committed to Florida State on Friday evening. Brown wasted little time making his pledge after receiving an offer from FSU’s staff on Monday.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Brown is the 16th commitment to FSU’s class of 2021 and offers the potential to play multiple spots.

“Brown is a prospect that gives you some versatility on the back end of your defense,” Osceola recruiting analyst Charles Fishbein said. “He can play either corner spot or potentially end up at safety or even grow into a linebacker. Brown gives you some athleticism. You can watch him on film drop back into coverage and make plays in the passing game. He haas the speed and quickness to blitz him off the edge as well.”

Columbia is coached by Brian Allen, who played linebacker at FSU from 1996-2000.
